He does a really great job of making everyone in the class feel like they belong there, and building us all up as a team. He is constantly encouraging his people and says all the right things to keep us motivated. His playlists are FIRE, and he plays the right at the right tempo to keep the energy going. Such a hype KING!!! I hadn’t been to Barry’s in a few months, and Derrick is now drawing me right back in! More Derrick please 🩶

It’s a small gym so they only ever have 6 or 7 people taking a class at a time (the two times I’ve been). All women. Everyone’s really nice and the instructors push you a healthy amount and are really good at paying attention to your form, correcting it if needed, and pushing you to the finish line. They are awesome with suggesting modifications, too, and encourage you to do what you’re comfortable doing. Will definitely keep going back!

I think this is something that makes this class different than any other as we tend to forget to work and stretch our smaller muscles. I would definitely go back for another class and would recommend!

There are more challenging classes, of course, but not having done Step Aerobics since the 90s, I thought I'd ease in. Everyone was super inviting, it's not the kind of place you slink into the back of the class without people getting to know your name....I like that! I'll be back, definitely!

It takes time to take off your coat/winter clothes, set up music if you wanna use the speaker, set up and sanitize (let’s say 3 minutes) plus a super minimal 5 minute warm up and maybe 2 minutes to stretch- that leaves you with 20 minutes left to actually workout (but you have to get rebundled to outside and clean up after yourself so really more like 17 minutes)
