    The magic and beauty of Thalia’s classes is she empowers and motivates you to finish class feeling stronger and better than you started!! Additional context: I booked a 10am Saturday HIIT class, and evidently, noticed I wasn’t performing to my strongest ability during the first round of class. Less than half way through class, I remember thinking maybe I’ll forfeit before making it through the entire class. The best part was when I decided to commit and instead go “lighter,” but Thalia ended up challenging me and motivated me to grab my heavier weight for the last 2 sets of a squats. Def picked up my energy and focus to push myself, stay in the work, and finish an effective workout despite it not being my best day! 🤍

    An excellent class - Justin’s directions were clear and easy to hear. Too, I really appreciated the thought and preparation he put into the class - from our poses, to the aromatic oils, to the guided meditation. It was so well structured, I went from 50 gabajillion thoughts elbowing each other to be first in line in my mind to totally relaxed over the course of the hour. A great reset - highly recommend!

    Fun, fast-paced class to get a good sweat in! About half of the time is spent doing strength exercises with dumbbells/body weight and the other half at the punching bag. The punching bag was my favorite part! Got some pent up frustration to take out? Punch it out! Remembering the 6 different punches was a bit confusing since this was my first time and the instructions moved quickly, but I went my own pace. There are visual instructions projected on the wall for the strength exercises, so that was easy to follow. Music and our instructor, Jennifer, were energetic!

    Chela is awesome! She is such a charismatic Zumba instructor who makes class enjoyable and challenging. I’ve experienced my fair share of good and bad Zumba instructors, and Chela definitely embodies all of the good. Really liked this class. Lots of space and natural light in the fitness room. I’ve done Zumba many times before so it wasn’t too hard to follow along with minimal instructor cues. Zumba is all about moving and having fun so there’s no worry about getting all the moves right. Good music and energy all around.

    Emma was an excellent instructor — she explained everything clearly and also demonstrated moves very well. She was really encouraging and kept me motivated while at the same time made me feel comfortable going at a pace/with the weight level that worked for me. I also liked that she called out how much time we had left for a given exercise, counting down at the end - I find this really helps me push myself as I know there’s an end in sight! 😅 Definitely recommend!

    Pros: Anna did a good job leading the training and the exercises are interesting and varied. Cons: the kettlebell options were limited (nothing lighter than 10lbs for straight-arm front raises); the training took place in the lower level of the studio which is like a dark dungeon, super depressing after a whole workday indoors. Don’t know why we didn’t use the upper level which has a wall of windows for natural light.

My second class with Shannon really cemented Mats being a hidden gem for me. After trying out countless other classes with trainers/instructors of varying skill sets, price points, and motivations, this is truly the best find yet! The instructor is warm, thoughtful, considerate, yet motivating and using evidence-based *intuitive* cues to make sure we're always checking in on our bodies. The mindfulness of the instructor really pushed the bar for me 😳💕 I've never been so consistent with my routine than with the team here. Thanks Mats!
